Champions League: Lille 0-1 Inter Ratings

Posted by SacT0wn on October 19, 2011 at 3:55 AM

Julio Cesar: 7

With the fists on Debuchy and kidneys on Hazard, came out of position on Sow twice.  He gave the team security immediately and did not stop there: another gem against Payet.

Maicon: 6

Beria is a type that does not afraid to face him and Maicon did not have the hubris on those good days.  And then, he lost two many balls.

Lucio: 6.5

It's either someone has said to him or he's finally understood: if he is in his place and avoids senseless runs, he is a security and the team will gain from that.  He was a totem until the end.

Chivu: 6.5

When he plays well, he has every reason to say that he is indeed a central defender and would like to play there.  Provided precious closures with no distractions (well except for one but he saved it).

Nagatomo: 6

Started the very first action for the goal of Pazzini.  But he had some chilling moments behind next to Julio Cesar and also risking a penalty on Hazard.

Zanetti: 6.5

First half of cleverness in terms of strength and generosity.  One hundred battles in the Champions League have given him much experience and he has not tired: a helper for all.

Thiago Motta: 6.5

Did not play with Inter since Beijing: he was put in front of the defense and from there he got his own rhythms.  Very valuable when Lille started to flood forward, almost as an additional defender.

Cambiasso: 6.5

From his side, he had to deal with Balmont and Hazard, unsavory types: kept them at bay always.

Sneijder: 7

Back at the controls, was the acceleration and the wheel when the team needed: half of the 1-0 was his.  If he doesn't ignite the light then he helps to ensure that it will not be put out.

Zarate: 6.5

This year, he is the man in the Champions League: the cross for Pazzini and always helpful.

Obi: 6

What did Ranieri ask for?  Freshness, attention, coverage and some relief: mission accomplished without dangerous neglect.

Stankovic: 6

Was the closest for the 2-0.  The fact is that he helped and ran like a midfielder like usual.

Pazzini: 7

Always trying to get away from Chedjou but when he is needed, he was there.  Scoring, drawing fouls, picking up the team and fighting for every ball are his jobs.

Milito: N/A

Ranieri: 7

We confess that the diamond midfield with two strikers and the return of Thiago Motta seemed like a gamble.  It was not because he knew how to get what he was asking for: compact, right distance, a mix of prudence, courage and team spirit.

Overall: 7

Honoring the 100th game in the Champions League: this is a big win.
