Champions League: CSKA Moscow 2-3 Inter

Posted by SacT0wn on September 27, 2011 at 11:40 AM

vs.

Wow that was nerve wrecking.  We have the occasional screw-ups but we did enough to win.  On their first goal, I think we can all blame Julio Cesar on that one.  The ball was just a few inches away to his left and he couldn't save it.  But there was one time that he saved a sure goal from the same player, Dzagoev so I guess it's even.  On their second goal, I don't know what was going through Lucio's head but he just let Love went by him without doing anything to stop him.

Anyway, enough with the negatives, what about that goal by Zarate huh?.  Chested the ball down and just blasted to the corner with the left foot.  Not only that, he also created so much havoc in their defense when he came on.  Nagatomo also did good.  Totally owned their left back on Pazzini's goal.  Should have had a fourth goal because Chivu was not in an offside position.

Great win by the boys and this could only help psychologically.  Grande Inter.

I agree Alvarez was good, he also help the defence a lot. and don't forget it was his first start of the season.
I think the weakness is (capitano + chuchu both destroyers) playing together, when we attack! 2 are getting very similar, we need a decent passer someone who's got a bit of a pace with a good eye on the ball and on the whole pitch to support the playmaker.

I think that Cuchu & Capitano are doing excactly the job they are asked to; you can rember in Gasp era none of them were as vesible as they are now or used to be bcoz Gasp didnt use them in a proper place and I like when Jz4 for run forward (if I was a coach I would use more on attacking and give him less responbilty to defence)

Regardless of how it looked, that's a great win. As SacTown says, it was a much needed confidence boost.

Napoli on Saturday will be a tough match for sure. Let's hope Ranieri doesn't stack the defense. I really want to see Inter win this match and not a 0-0 with 7 men back for 90 minutes.

Alvarez did OK. I don't think he did as bad as some fans thought.

i like alvarez today in sneijder's position, but unfortunately I don't think the two are compatible on the same field so I think alvarez is just a 12 million insurance to sneijder.

milito/pazzini up front is working well for us, they are more compatibly than many have predicted. I'd like to see a 3 man attack of milto-pazzini-forlan with sneijder behind them though. Similiar to the eto'o-milito-pandev we used to run under mourinho. I think that's our best forward line.

cambiasso and zanetti did well in midfield dfensively but I'm disappointed in them offensively. after we went up 2-0 they did not show for the ball often in midfield in our build up attacks and our offence broke down too much (cambiasso would sit back as a center back, zanetti would be on the wing).

also i was really happy with chivu's performance today. very solid

overall good game, let the good times roll..

Sneijder is out for 2-3 weeks it seems like. There is no chance he will play on Saturday against Napoli so he could come back after the international break.

Hope Pazzini's injury is nothing serious. Any news about Sneijder? It is almost certain that he will miss that crunch tie against Napoli. But I hope he can get back in 10 days from now.

These two wins against Bologna and now CSKA must do wonders to our mentality and morale.

You are absolutely correct Sac.. Now we wait for the injured to come back.
Also, I'm very disappointed with Alvarez. I really hope he'll be better in the future.

They kept fouling, kept fouling, kept fouling near the box, the more we got close to the end of HT! I was afraid one of them eventually go in which finally did! And nothing worse than conceding in the last second from a chance which could easily be avoided. This goal can really be a turning point for CSKA.

And JC once again conceded a bizzare goal. I dunno what's happened to the dude.
