INTER-ROMA: WHO CAN BE SAVED

Gasperini is with the defense of three tonight and Sneijder in the midfield.  "The storm is outside from here."

Luis Enrique relies on De Rossi and clarifies: "The club supports me but I will not stay hanging on the bench."

ALL AT RISK

Gasp to make changes again: "But the storm is outside not inside Inter."

First he had a meeting with Moratti, then he talked about the formation again: "It is not one that gives continuity."

Moratti and Inter --- Di Benedetto and Roma

Born on:  May 16, 1945 --- June 3, 1949

Profession: Oil --- Entrepreneur

President since: February 15, 1995 - August 18, 2011

Coaches: 16 --- 1

Transfer market 2011 balance: - 0.2 million --- - 32.76 million

Wages: 145 million (second in Serie A) --- 76.5 million (fourth in Serie A)

Appiano Gentile - The storm is surrounding Inter, so it was said.  Inside, Gian Piero Gasperini is only smelling calmness instead of a storm.  Inside, at Pinetina, was Massimo Moratti who arrived at the first training session and had a talk with Gasperini.  It wasn't long but it was intense as they were walking on the field.  "Inside Inter, team and management, we do not feel the storm.  From Moratti, I have always received great motivations.  So we are working to be at our best."  But how long does Gasperini need?  "Tomorrow night I am optimistic because when you are down, it is easier to get up but mostly because I am convinced that we will have a good game tomorrow."

Like in Beijing The storm that is needed to shake Inter and wake it from sleeping early this season and Gasperini's conviction is that the cycle is not at the end.  "When one ends, another will reopen.  This Inter are changing and the team remains competitive."  And Gasperini, before the first test on the field in the last afternoon, already had in mind the right formation for tonight.  In a way, picking up where he started before changes were made a few days ago: "It was useful to make changes, but a clear tactical plan had developed up to the Super Cup in Beijing: the first half of that derby gave us a good indication of this team.  Then I 'lost' players through vacation and transfer market, others arrived late and then we started playing every three days."

Appreciate Roma project Yes, Inter are playing a match every three days so a quick recovery is much needed.  Gasp also had a few words on the project at Roma: "They believe in a project and are developing well beyond the results.  I really appreciate their idea and I'm sure with time, they will do well.  I think that I also have the same trust and confidence just like Luis Enrique.  But this trust should be accompanied by an important sign, and I talk about results but also in approach and performance of this team."

Run less, run better "Roma are a team that can possess the ball with good organization of play so the midfield has to be thicker with the help of the strikers so we don't suffer with their dribbling.  A good field layout is much needed so you need to run less but run better."  And Gasperini will return to an Inter that will be quite similar to the one in Beijing: "Too much flexibility can become a boomerang, but continuity is given not only from using the same game formation."

Changes Inter Inter have been going back and forth between the defense of three and four.  Gasperini likes the first version (has always been) and the players like the second.  Against Roma, the idea of the coach will prevail but we should immediately clarify one thing: the problem is not the formation but how to interpret it.  That is with a proactive and aggressive attitude (as required by the defense of three).  In fact, facing a team that has three strikers, Gasperini will order his defenders to constantly moving back and forth.  The outside midfielders, depending on where the opponent develops their movement, will be responsible to come back on the line of the three central defenders to form a line of four.  It is one of the first rule imposed by this formation: it avoids having one-on-one situations in the danger zone and you always have the numerical superiority.  The key man of Inter if Gasperini chooses the 3-5-2 (or 3-4-1-2) will be Sneijder.  It is up to the Dutch to connect all the departments (midfield and attack) and it is also up to him to lend a hand in defending as well.  Only so, Inter can come out of the dark.

7 defenders 1 play maker and 2 strikers is great. Defending is the most important phase in football especially in Italy, teams must be compact and solid like Mou's 4-3-1-2. Inter should play a counter attacking style of football base on the opponents errors and not attacking junk.

In my opinion, Trappatoni and Lippi are the best coaches for Inter.

So with 7 defenders + 1 Playmaker + 0 Dribblers, Gaspinter can play attacking football based on possession. I have no argument about formation but we could use at least one more good passer instead of one defender.
Forza Gasp! Forza INTER...

Gasp is gonna operate however he thinks is best, no matter what the press thinks. And I think it is the correct way to go in this situation. "Crisis Inter" only translates into more losing scorelines.
