How About A Better Start In The Champions League Eh?!

DEFENSE OF 4, SNEIJDER, OBI, PAZZINI: THE MOVES FOR A STRONG RESTART

Three more minor doubts and one question remain: Gasperini to change tactics only tonight or forever?

Against Trabzonspor, new formation for the Nerazzurri.  Now Inter restart with Sneijder and Pazzini.

Gasperini: "Corrections needed."  Defense at four.

A POKER OF NEWS - THE COACH IS LOOKING TO TURN IT AROUND

Sneijder as trequartista - Sneijder is now starting and not being forced to play on the left side but instead, he'll play in his favorite position: move freely behind the strikers in a more central location.

Pazzini returns - Pazzini to get up from the bench and this move is not a smack in the face of Milito.  It is not easy to just give up the goals of Pazzo who demonstrated it this summer.

Focus on Obi - Trabzonspor focus strongly on physical condition so in the midfield, fresh legs, speed and rhythm are needed.  Obi in Palermo has given very good signals.

Defense of four - Defense of four to start and not only with the retreat of one of two fullbacks: to choose reliability of a formation that the team knows in memory.

Appiano Gentile - Changes are coming compared to what happened in Palermo but also to certain guidelines in the summer, convictions revised and corrected in the laboratory of pragmatism.  The doubts remain for tonight are that the uncertainties of Gasperini with this formation, in the memory of his old habits and formation was decided at the last minute even for this team.  Doubt about Inter-Trabzonspor: Gasperini is going to change tonight but is he going to change just for a short period of time or forever?  Soon you will have the answer on the field.  Another doubt is that if the steering in tactics of Gasperini was the result of weakness or reasonableness, and the latter can cancel out the former on the field.

Also thinking of Roma First thing first: the immediately reality is that there is the Champions League tonight, there's Trabzon, there is an immediate need for oxygen after the two slaps in the face in the first two games of the season.  Changes, again, are coming but perhaps even more than expected.  Because the return to the back four was already in Gasp's plan right away after the defeat against Palermo.  He could also take into account also the starting spot of Ranocchia who is in the running with Samuel.  The Argentinian has just recently from a long injury and maybe needs a little rest in view of Inter-Roma on Saturday.  The immediate choice of 4-3-1-2 is a bit more obvious.  Sneijder will be free to do the job of a trequartista, his favorite position as he will try to sew the midfield and the attack behind the strikers.

Zanetti in his place From behind, there are Jonathan and Nagatomo who could find it easier to alternately pushing and advancing on the wings.  In the midfield there is Zanetti who will return to be a midfielder along side with Cambiasso and the freshness of Obi should also be there even though that Gasperini will do a little bit of thinking before deciding whether to start Stankovic.  And in the attack there would be Zarate who on Sunday night seemed bewildered and helpless.  Maybe this time when he will play closer to the goal will be necessary for him to be awaken his talented instincts that were missing in Palermo.

Some people are more into just getting results than sticking to the core of the football game which is 'entertainment'. I won't say results are not important. They are important in today's football. But in any way? In whatever way? Not my cup of coffee for sure.

Playing attacking football doesn't merely means you could only play like Barcelona to achieve that. It's about having the ideas to play attacking football and having the right players for that kind of football. But still, you can't have much choice to play like that when 3/4 of your team is about defensive/players and the rest of the attacking options are not that much of a world beater either.

Long story to talk about now. Let's just hope Inter insert alittle bit of more attacking football to their game soon, so we won't witness a team who fail to make one clear chance in particular matches.

I prefer counter attacking football and a more defensive vision like Trappatoni or Mourinho. The other teams control you but you score more goals.

agree or disagree, I AM totally tired of this narrow, defensive, counter attacking, ugly, retarded style italian football, was watching AC milan against barca last night and those aZHoles thought that they had to win in the press conference commented by mr allegro, as an inter fan i feel embarrassed, dortmond plays way better beautiful football than us thats why we suck and lost their place to germany, fuck confidence, we need to change now or never its gonna happen. i don't really care about formation, but the fact that we get into the pitch with at least 7-8 defensive minded players and at the end someone like iniesta from another league gets back the ball way easier than our defenders plus delivers to forwards ten times faster than our stank pisses me off.

Believe it or not.. not every body enjoys attacking football. Personally, I enjoy watching a match controlled like a chess game by an able coach (Mou, Capello, Lippi) more than watching Pep's style of attacking football. And by the way, If Milan were to have the necessary firepower upfront yesterday, they would have slaughtered Barca.

On another note, I hope to see Gasp winning more games and conceding less goals in the upcoming matches to boost the players morale and confidence, otherwise, It's going to be time to bring in another coach.. and when I say another coach, I mean a real coach like Mou, Capello or even Lippi!

I disagree. I think what we need exactly is a more defensive minded formation to settle our nerves and not concede any goals to boost the players confidence. I hope zarate shows up, but if not we can still bring milito off the bench. I really believe Milito-Pazzini is compatible, milito has enough skill and play making ability to play as a second forward. A 1-0 or 2-0 win is exactly what this team needs for the roma match.

Also, I'm always of the believer that Zanetti is best suited as a midfielder. He has an engine that doesn't stop and I always feel it's a waste of his ability to play as a full back. Zanetti is like mascherano, they can play in defense but they are more beneficial as midfielders.

I think this formation still lacks attacking players. IMO It was better if Zanetti and Jonathan exchanged places, or Zanetti plays in Naga place, Obi in Zanetti place and Alvarez in Obi place. Except two forwards it's only Sneijder who could be a threat from midfield. If opponent close him down then we are in trouble again. Well, maybe Trabzonspor is not that much of a great opponent, so this formation may be enough for tonight match. Let's see.
