Forlan And Pazzini: Confidence In Ranieri, Now Towards Champions League

Posted by SacT0wn on February 18, 2012 at 1:10 PM

After the defeat against Bologna yesterday, Inter are now plunging forward to the Champions League, a competition that could still give something in a very difficult season.  Here are how the two protagonists in Diego Forlan and Giampaolo Pazzini think about the game against Marseille of Didier Deschamps.

"I'm delighted to be able to play in a knockout stage with Inter," said Diego Forlan.  I like the city of Milan, it is different than Madrid.  It is a beautiful city with nice people and I'm feeling good here.  The injury? We must always look on the bright side of things, we must work and be ready when the time comes to play.  In football, there are no favorites.  Marseille are a great team.  When I was a kid, I watched many games in international football and dreamed of playing in Europe: thank God now that I have played in England, Spain and Italy, all three spectacular leagues."

Meanwhile Pazzini: "Forlan can help us do well in the Champions League as well as Serie A.  Ranieri? He was able to restore the self-esteem that the team needed.  Marseille? We are going to a big stadium, it will be hostile but we can do well here.  Although, it will be difficult because I saw the game at Dortmund."

Let's just hope we can find motivation and strength to finish 3rd in Serie A...Milan and Juventus are to far away, so we must concentrate on 3rd place....but it won't be easy...Udine, Lazio, Roma, Napoli and us, are all trying to finish 3rd...i don't care about Marseille at this moment....if we don't finish 3rd it will be bigger problem and shame than not qualifying into the next round of CL
