OLD INTER

TEARS AND GOALS

The redemption - In Verona with Chievo, the Nerazzurri return to win (2-0) after 47 days.

Samuel and Milito (who missed a penalty at the beginning of the game) moved Ranieri: "Because I really care."

AN EMOTIONAL INTER

Happy ending after 47 days and 10 games.  Samuel-Milito and Ranieri is safe.

Against Chievo the Nerazzurri were the masters on the field throughout the game.

Sorrentino hypnotized il Principe from the spot.

Then two headers solved the game.

Verona - Dedicated to Marseille and a Champions League still be played, Inter raise its head.  In the most delicate moment of the season, the Nerazzurri were able to find the pieces in order to score goals and get a victory away from home.  Winning was something that got away from this Inter team for a couple of months.  The 2-0 finale seems to be the end of a nightmare.  Or, at least, it was enough to redden Claudio Ranieri's eyes who is now going to focus on the second leg of the Champions League without having to talk about Blanc, Villas Boas, or Capello.  For the moment, this is still his Inter.

Restart On Tuesday, it will be another battle but the Nerazzurri arrive this crucial crossroads after having rediscovered the taste of success, missing since January 22, 47 days ago, and after having lost many steps in the league standings.  The Champions League zone is a long way to go but Europa League could be a respectable option.  From the psychological point of view, this game will give important injections of confidence.  Two deadly headers by Samuel (Sneijder's corner) and Milito (Captain Zanetti's cross) were the decisive factors.  But this win was not by chance.  Inter were in control of the game from the very beginning.

The game In the first half, Inter could have gotten the lead but Milito's PK was stopped by Sorrentino and then Sneijder got rejected by the crossbar from a shot that had it gone in, it would have been heard around the world.  That is to say that Ranieri's team, for once, other than getting a win, demonstrated temperament and good tactical ideas.

In view of Champions League The final test for Inter before the Champions League game offers many positive signs.  Starting from the formation, with the diamond midfield.  Stankovic is not Motta.  The Serbian's direction is less ordered by the coach but it was more up to him and it was a very good Dejan indeed.  He covers, restarts the attack and even goes after the goal.  He may become an extra weapon for this game on Tuesday against the predicable bunker mentality of Marseille.  Sneijder also works well between the lines.  The Dutch, with the ball at his feet, always has two open options: look for the goal or find a teammate.  Sneijder shows that he can still be the focal point of the team.  But Samuel was the best player on the field.  He was ruthless in marking, decisive when pushing forward.  There's also Zanetti who was precious on the right wing.  As Inter are waiting for the Champions League game on Tuesday, the return of Maicon is also very important.  The Brazilian did not anything great and that's normal.  But his power and aggression will be useful against the French and the 90 minutes against Chievo will ensure a good amount of fuel into this engine.

Left Ranieri will, however, need something to revise the left wing.  Nagatomo was always in trouble and Poli did not appear easy as normal.  The ups and downs are normal for young players, even talented ones.  What about Chievo? The team of Di Carlo was never dangerous.  And this is another reason why Inter deserved this win considering that a few days ago Chievo always put Juventus in difficulty and got a big draw at the home of the Bianconeri.  Their best player on the field was the goalkeeper Sorrentino.  He was great not only for saving Milito's PK but also two other dangerous occasions.  Di Carlo probably expected more out of Pellissier who was taken out of the game by Samuel-Lucio.  Inter also kept a cleansheet, another message dedicated to Marseille.
