Match Preview: Inter - Napoli

Posted by Filip Karem on October 1, 2011 at 8:45 AM

Tonight at the Giuseppe Meazza two of the top four teams at the Serie A table will play against each other. SSC Napoli is visiting Internazionale, and this is the toughest match yet for Inter this season. Napoli are also tipped as top contenders for the Scudetto. The team from Naples has been in a very great form this season, as you could see in their draw against Manchester City also their crushing win over Villareal at home.

The Nerazzuri have had a terrible start of the season, worst in 90 years, and this was all under coach Gian Piero Gasperini. Although now, there is no trace of him left except 16th place at the standings. This is the worst start for our beloved team in 90 years. Claudio Ranieri and his men has been sent in as the clean-up crew, and it worked from the first minute, the Black and Blue team from Milan have won their two last games, one in the Serie A and the other one in the prestigious Champions league.

We will be missing our biggest star, Wesley Sneijder in the match against Napoli, although it seems that this time Maicon will be back for sure also, Dejan Stankovic will be available to play. In the called up squad you could also find Giampaolo Pazzini, who was slightly injured in the game against CSKA Moskva. Rannochia is also gone due to his ban.

Napoli will be without their best goalscorer, Edinson Cavani and also some other players like Maggio, Dzemaili and Britos. Goran Pandev might replace Cavani, and this will be a great occasion for him to see his old team. Even Napoli president De Laurentis said that Goran Pandev will score against Inter.

It will be a tough match no doubt, how will Claudio Ranieri's team work tomorrow?

I have followed Inter religiously since the 1990 WC, but Napoli are a close second for me in Italia. I can't get enough of watching them play at the San Paolo. Those fans are awesome.
