Baptista To Inter: Done Deal

Posted by anonymous on January 14, 2010 at 5:21 PM

Massimo Moratti just scored the 2nd player in the winter market, Julio Baptista.  There are only small details that need to be sorted out before the deal can be official.  The Brazilian will sign a contract worth about 2.5 million annually until June 30th, 2013.  To Roma will the Argentina' Burdisso and he'll stay there until the summer of 2013, plus a payment in cash of nearly 2 million.  The announcement is almost upon us.

Some in the Spanish press have a deal almost done for Guti to come to Inter. I don't know if I like that. The guy is truly a knucklehead, but has some creativity that Inter have lacked at times (plus he could not play in the CL).

BTW Couldn't Zanetti play left back? He used to play outside fullback until he became younger and wouldn't ever stop running. I love that guy!

Seems almost unanimous on all Inter forums that fans are not looking forward to a Baptista move....

Hah, I've been looking for new footy forums since the shithole at fox went south and stumbled across it.

Those two both have potential to be world beaters in a few years time. I know many Inter supporters like to talk our youngsters up(maybe in part the fact they are both Italian) I just want to be realistic with those two. Especially with people saying we don't need Kolarov or a left back in general because we have Santon. However like all 18-19 year olds they have aways to go. Balotelli's is mostly mental, he sorts that out...what a player.

How do you know "the offside"?

Many Inter fans rated Balotelli and Santon as if they can start weekly for the teams like Chelsea, United, Barcelona, Real...But I like you. I think those guys have great potential to become great players in the future. Like I said before, it'll be 2-3 years from now.

Baptista on his day is sublimely world class. However I have never seen a more inconsistent player. Back in his days at Sevilla he was destined to be the next "big thing." These days he either produces magic, or it feels like you're playing with ten men all match.

On a side note, been visiting the offside lately, seems a lot of people there rate Balotelli and Santon extremely high. Almost too highly in my opinion. I mean i have faith in them that they'll become great players, but to me it seems that day is still a ways in the future. Any thoughts?

Yep, sometimes I just want our left-back crossing the ball with their leff feet. Santon and Zanetti have to cut back and cross it with their preferred foot.

Anyway, back to Baptista.

A lot of Inter fans I know don't really like this move. They all think Baptista is overrated, useless and NO ONE knows whey he played for teams like Real Madrid, Arsenal, Roma and now Inter.

I'm worried about or situation in the back. Not a single actual left back. Coupled with the injuries we're suffering in midfield.

No didn't see his goal today. But after the game Balardini was back on his bandwagon and says he'll stay.

Hahaha, YES I will.

Did you see Kolarov's goal today? I want that signing so bad.

Still not a fan of this move. Maybe we'll get "The Beast" back from from his days at Sevilla.

Now Mr. Moratti sign Kolarov up, we need that left sided defender.

Hell yes. Roma have made some pretty good deals only they havent improved the squad but good as in they got rid of one injury prone player and an omni present footballer.
