Reports From Argentina: Mascherano To Barcelona A Done Deal

Posted on August 12, 2010 at 5:43 PM

Rafa Benitez will not have one of his pupils.  According to reports from Argentina, more specifically Ole, agreement is reached between Barcelona and Liverpool for the transfer of Javier Mascherano to Spain.  The news then travels with amazing speed to Spain as El Mundo Deportivo, a site dedicated to Barca, also reports this news.  So there is nothing that Rafa Benitez could have done.  Benitez would love to see the link up between Cambiasso and El Jefecito but the price of 25 million did not go down and the inclusion of counterparts also did not work.

According to Ole, the agreement is 15 million plus Hleb.  The player that a summer ago was involved in the exchange of Eto'o and Ibrahimovic but then he blatantly refused the move and the went to Stuttgart, his great love.  Branca then veered to Sneijder, not a bad move.

In any case, there is nothing official, but things seem very close, according to reports from Argentina.  Now maybe Branca will have to look at this note and figure out something else just like a summer ago with Sneijder.  One thing for sure, Inter are waiting for an official announcement between Barca and Liverpool to get to work.

Hmm... I don't know what to think about it.  I guess Mariga should have more playing time this year.  And don't bring up Motta, dude is already on the injury list.

I know he had muscular problems before the game with City. I don't think he played in the 2nd friendly game with Panathinaikos.

Motta will get injured sooner or later in the season anyway.

Motta injured? What does he have got?
Well, if he's really hard injured, I change my opinion and want Branca & Co. to buy Mascherano!!

It would be nice to see Mascherano and Cambiasso destroy midfields together but i don't think is should bother us inter fans if he comes or not. We have Mariga who seems to show alot of great promise. But if Motta is going to be getting hit with injuries alot this season then Mascherano is a must. I don't think Stankovic and muntari and good enough. I heard that Branca is looking for a defensive midfielder either way so let's see what happens.
